Making the right choice of cruise ship and cruise line is even
more important than price! Choosing the right cruise experience
will ensure that you have the kind of experience that builds wonderful
lifetime memories of the cruise vacation of your dreams.
What kind of bargain is that low price cruise if you find yourself
on the “Spring Break Party Ship”, when you were looking
for an intimate and romantic time away? Your fantasy vacation may
be another traveler’s worst nightmare and vice versa!
So how do you choose?
You want to think about the type of cruise you are looking for.
For example:
Romantic Cruise
Couples seeking a romantic ambiance. There are cruise ships that
cater to romance that even let you renew wedding vows. Perhaps
you want a smaller ship or an “adults only” experience
as opposed to the family oriented “Disney” whirlwind.
Luxury Cruise
There are several cruise lines that specialize in giving you an “over
the top” experience in a sophisticated ambiance with luxurious
accommodation and first class cuisine. You may value service and
attention more than water slides and rock climbing wall or ice
skating rinks on board!
Party Cruise
Perhaps you want a Spring Break experience where you let it all
go; or a younger crowd with lots of music, disco, outdoor activities
and room at the bar.
Gourmet Cruises
The reality is that some ships food quality is not the same as
fine 3 Star Michelin restaurants on land. If food is your passion
you will want to choose a ship and cruise line known for their
gastronomic experience, and many rival the finest dining experiences
you can find ashore.
Family Cruise
Not surprisingly, more and more families are turning to cruising
for family vacations and many ships specialize in providing programs
for children age 3-17. While the kid’s are having a blast,
the parents can enjoy the adult offerings of the ship. (I outline
the kid’s programs later on in this book for most popular
cruise lines).
Adventure Cruises
Perhaps you have always wanted to explore Antarctica or take a
tour of the Galapagos Islands.
The above points are there to stimulate your thinking. What kind
of a cruise experience do you want to have? The clearer you are
