Destinations - European Cruises
Today, cruising Europe has become one of the most enjoyable
ways to explore all the wonders of Europe in truly Grand Style!
Europe is divided into 3 regions for cruising:
The Mediterranean - Europe is an endlessly varied tapestry of beauty, woven with
every art that nature and the human imagination
can devise.
The artistic treasures and sumptuous lifestyles
of Italy and France mirror the civilized beauty of the
land, graced with azure coves and cypress-ridged hills.
Spain's
jeweled cathedrals and sunny seacoast are as high spirited
as
the Spanish
themselves.
A western Mediterranean cruise will call at ports such as Venice,
Amalfi, Barcelona, Monte Carlo and some even off the beaten path
like St. Tropez.
Or you can visit Marseille and the Provencal
countryside or join a tour of the Pope’s private place
of worship in the Vatican. And a favorite of many is the stretch
from the Italian Riviera to the Greek Isles.
Scandinavia/Russia & Western
Europe – Cruising Northern,
you view a thrilling theater of jagged mountains and awesome
fjord lands, where mankind has built proud seafaring capitals,
while on secluded islands, fishermen enjoy the age-old pleasures
of their ancestors.
The richness of culture
and heritage can be viewed in some of the world’s most
beautiful cities.
Musts are Copenhagen and St. Petersburg to
name just two. You can see the Russian
ballet, tour Peter the Great’s oak paneled study, visit
the wine cellars of Rasputin or the stunning collections in the
Hermitage museum.
And you can visit a Belgian chocolate making
demonstration, see Denmark’s crown jewels in Rosenborg
castle or gaze upon the beautifully unique St. Mary’s Church,
the world’s
largest brick church.
European Rivers - Europe presents a variety
of options for river cruising: from the rich history of the
Rhine to the untouched
Douro, which meanders through Madrid and Northern Portugal.
Glide through colorful waterways and visit many of the gems often
overlooked
by other travelers.
River cruising is a slower paced way to
travel to famous places in Europe and River ships are smaller
and quite different from
the large cruise vessels. It takes a whole book to cover
the wonders of river cruising.
